SLEEPING
One third of our lives spent in bed!
Have you ever thought of that? And many of us spend even more that 8 hours a day on a mattress. Sleep is Mother Nature's way of energizing and strengthening us.
Your bed is more than a pretty piece of furniture. An average 75-year old has spent 25 of those years sleeping on a mattress! Choosing a mattress (and a foundation) is of the utmost importance; it must conform to your body to provide it with a deeper more regenerative sleep.
Roxane, our sleeper, is resting comfortably because her latex mattress breathes and stays cool. A never too hot sweat-free sleeping environment promotes deep sleep.
Think about the essential role sleeping plays in your life and then consider the quality of your mattress.

Remain healthy by having a good night's sleep!
Sleeping allows the doctor in us to work freely. Our body regenerates and prepares for the elimination of metabolic residues during sleep .
If your mattress puts pressure on your tissue, muscles and organs, drainage is slowed down - at least at some places. When you wake up you may feel heavy, ache all over and have the impression that you did not sleep well...
Good living starts with a good night's sleep!

Poor sleep
When you sleep poorly and are asked why, you probably give one or many of the following answers:
- Inadequate support
- Wrong temperature
- Sweating
- Insufficient air circulation
- Weight of blankets
- Motion transfer
- Slanted surface
- Insufficient space (length and width)
- Noisy box spring, springs
- Allergenic agents
- Dust mites
These are the most frequent causes. Some are well known and do not need to be explained, others are less so.

Further information on forgotten or unrecognized causes
Inadequate support
If your mattress has lost its shape or if it doesn't you with overall support, the effect of gravity will make your body conform to the shape of the mattress when the opposite should be true. Sleeping askew or twisted is not restful. Lack of support may cause serious problems.
Slanted surface
We often forget to check whether we are really on a level surface. A warped or overly soft mattress tilts your body or can even make it roll. Unconsciously, you are constantly trying to stop your body from rolling. A serious obstacle to total relaxation.
Air-circulation
Not only should the room be well aired but that on which you lay must allow your body to breathe; keep you warm without making you sweat.
Motion transfer
The most frequent cause: the domino effect when sleeping with someone else. If your partner interrupts your sleep when he is moving in his sleep, do not accuse him of keeping you awake. Your mattress should eliminate motion transfer.
Allergenic agents and dust mites
Sleep may be disturbed by allergic reactions to the materials used in the bedding or mattress. Check the product components. Moreover, unless antiseptic materials such as latex are used, acarids (dust mites) will invade your bed and affect the quality of your sleep.
