ALLERGIES TO LATEX
My child is allergic to latex, can he sleep on your mattresses?

Latex is a generic term. There are different types of latex. We often hear of a latex pillow when in fact it is made of synthetic foam. According to an Allergist at Montreal's Hôtel-Dieu hospital, people cannot be allergic to a latex mattress because they are not in direct contact with it. An allergic reaction to latex can only take place when there is direct skin or respiratory contact or when the latex fiber is disintegrating. Since our mattresses are quilted, the latex never comes into contact with the skin. In the case of pillows, if someone is allergic to or might be sensitive to latex, the pillow must be covered with two pillow cases to make it impossible to have an allergic reaction through respiratory contact. If there is any possibility of an allergy to latex, you should use visco-elastic pillows.
